I’m Sarah (aka sluggomarie), a 40-something mom and wife who runs a couple not-yet-profitable businesses (jewelry and home decor as New Path Designs and special education advocacy) from home while (supposedly) writing my doctoral dissertation. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in February of 2009. I view this diagnosis and condition as my opportunity to work on and achieve better balance in my life — granted it’s a pain in the butt opportunity, but an opportunity nonetheless. My daughter was diagnosed with High-Functioning Autism in January of 2011 and Tourette Syndrome in 2013, so I continue to learn more about these conditions and explore what this means for her and our family as well as how to best help her meet all her needs.
